The company experienced financial difficulties during the first few years, however, it was then able to secure strong financial support from Saudi Arabia. This financial support helped the company unveil the production of the Lucid Air, which is the company’s first vehicle. When Lucid Motors unveiled the Air in 2020, it announced that the first version of this luxury sedan will be the fully-equipped Dream Edition. So, the Air model will be made available in 2022 and the expected price of this version is around 80,000 dollars. And then we have the Air Touring version which will be available by the end of this year. You might want to note that the Air Grand Touring model will be launched alongside Air Dream Edition. Let me tell you that the price of Air Grand Touring is 139,000 dollars. On the other hand, Air Dream Edition is the most expensive car by Lucid Motors which has a price tag of 169,000 dollars. Here, it is worth noting that the expensive and fully-equipped version features a bigger 113 kWh battery pack that will let the car cover more than 500 miles in a single charge. In its official statement, the company said, “That was fast. The limited run of Lucid Air Dream Edition is now fully booked. This exclusive design was created to celebrate the launch of Lucid Air. If you were hoping to reserve a Dream Edition, you can still get on the waitlist when you reserve a Grand Touring model.” As I have already mentioned that this model will be launched during the second half of this year, reports suggest that it could still come before Tesla’s Model S Plaid+. So, if the Lucid Air Dream Edition comes before Tesla’s Model S Plaid+, it will become the first electric vehicle with over 500 miles on a single charge. And it will surely help Lucid Motors grow. However, if you decide to go with the optional 21-inch AeroDream wheels, the EPA-estimated range of the car will drop to 465 miles.
