Remembering Tony Rice w/Andy Wood, Trey Hensley, Brent Lamons: Vault Sessions (Season 4: Ep. 2)

This episode is to honor the memory of the unparalleled flat picker extraordinaire, Tony Rice. Tony changed the face of acoustic music with his unique, instantly recognizable style and tone. We here at Songbirds were saddened to lose such an irreplaceable guitar icon, but we are comforted that his influence and music will live on-- bringing smiles to the faces to fans everywhere (or possibly a frown of concentration if you are attempting to learn his amazing licks).

We join Andy Wood, Trey Hensley, Brent Lamons, and others as they talk about Tony Rice and attempt to demonstrate some of his style and guitar flare. This episode also features several of our vintage Martin D-28s (and a few others) even if they don't hold a candle to Tony's famous Martin D-28 that once belonged to his mentor, Clarence White.

Rice died on Christmas morning 2020 at the age of 69.
