Ryugashido Cavern: Beauty of nature inside the largest limestone caves in the Tokai Region, Japan.

Ryugashido Cavern or ryugaiwa-dong, located in the oku-hamanako area, is one of the largest limestone caves in the Tokai region, formed in a limestone area said to be about 250 million years old. It was opened at the southern foot of Mt. Ryugaishi with a total length of about 1000 meters (400 meters open for the public) and an altitude of 359.1 meters. The average annual temperature in the cave is about 18 degrees centigrade. It feels cool in the summer and warm in winter, so one can enjoy the ancient underground worl exploration comfortably regardless of the season.
