How a Clutch Actually Works (3D) 🔧🧠 | Transmission Logic #shorts

Why do gears grind if you don't press the clutch pedal? ⚙️🤔

Search Query: How does a car clutch work? The main job of the clutch is to Disconnect the Engine from the Wheels, so you can swap gears without destroying the gearbox!

The Engineering Science: 🔒 The Lock: In normal driving, the heavy "Pressure Plate" clamps the Clutch Disc tightly against the spinning Flywheel. This transfers 100% of engine power to the wheels via friction. 🛑 The Cut: When you press the pedal, a spring mechanism pulls the Pressure Plate back. The engine keeps spinning, but the gearbox stops receiving power. 🔧 The Shift: Now that the pressure is gone, you can slide the gears into a new position without that terrible "Grinding Noise"!
