After acquiring French Rafale fighters, Egypt is now bolstering its defence capabilities with South Korean K-9 Thunder Howitzers. Egypt’s Defense Ministry has signed a $1.6 billion contract for the howitzers with South Korea’s Hanwha Defense. The agreement involves local production and transfer of the artillery system to Egypt.
