Solo Hiking Pikes Peak on the Barr Trail 14,115 feet | Colorado Springs Winter Summits

I hiked the Barr trail in winter to summit Pikes Peak after a lot of snow had fallen. After sleeping near Barr camp, I made an early ascent in order to ensure the snow was stable and hard. As the day went on and warmed up I had to rush to get out of the sketchy soft snow in order to avoid wet avalanches. In total, the hike was a little over 25 miles and 7,400 feet of elevation gain.
