SANTA CLARITA - At approximately 1709. LACoFD, CHP and LASD responded to reports of a traffic collision with persons trapped, wires down, and involving a bus. Arriving units found a 3 vehicle traffic collision with confirmed persons trapped, with live wires down across the intersection. 2 people were transported to Henry Mayo Hospital, one in good condition, one in unknown condition as a traumatic patient. One person was pronounced dead at the scene. Witnesses described hearing the crash from about a mile away. It appears that the bus was struck on the side before striking the power pole and knocking the lines down. CHP and LASD have Sierra Highway Shut down in both directions, along with Golden Valley Shut down at Sierra Highway. It appears that LASD is handling the investigation.
