Investing in India: Clean and Safe Drinking Water

Since 1956, Lions have been a staple in India and serving those communities in need . Moreover, Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) has bolstered and elevated the work of the Lions in India through disbursements totaling more than $100 million in grants and the development of over 2,000 projects over the years.

Lacking an alternative, many in India are forced to quench their thirst with water tainted by contaminants and waterborne diseases. Side effects that follow are often painful and debilitating. The Lions in West Bengal and Jharkland have partnered with Coal India Limited and Tata Project Limited to establish 28 water filtration systems throughout West Bengal.
