(BREAKING NEWS! 2ND CHECKS!) YES! SECOND STIMULUS CHECK UPDATE $1200 & STIMULUS PACKAGE 12/16/2020

Breaking news! Finally! I can tell you with confidence we will see a stimulus package this week and there will be stimulus checks! It is not an official bill yet, not approved but IT IS HAPPENING THIS WEEK! I let you know yesterday a video might come at a weird hour, here it is!

What unfolded…
Yesterday I gave you the breaking news that top congressional leaders were meeting regarding the stimulus package. They met, adjourned and then returned and worked throughout the night. We were all wondering what was going on but have learned: short negotiations are bad, longer the better! They all worked late into the night, locked themselves in the room and emerged saying we are getting a deal and they will be including a second round of stimulus checks!
To clarify this is the $908 bipartisan lawmaker’s stimulus package that originally did not include stimulus checks but did include a $300 per week FPUC unemployment boost. The bill was broken into two pieces: $748 billion package with provisions they agree upon and another with the two provisions they couldn’t agree on the liability protection and state and local funding.

The details…
We don’t have many. We don’t know the size of the checks. They could be less than $1,200 per person. We don’t know the eligibility requirements for the checks. We don’t know about SSI, SSDI, VA, or RR. Unfortunately, all we know at this point is there will be a stimulus package and there will be stimulus checks!

So why now?
Why after months of being disappointed is this finally happening? There are two reasons why it is “very real” right now. The first being the deadline for provisions is approaching, all provisions will end at the end of the year, the last of many of these benefits will be collected December 26, 2020. PUA and PEUC expiring would leave over 12 million people unemployed without any help. Additionally, the end of the eviction moratorium would create a wave of foreclosures and evictions. This stops that.
Secondly an article from the Hill suggests democrats will use this in their favor during the Georgia elections. At this point we have not received word who receives credit for pushing to include the stimulus checks in the negotiations which included: Senate majority Leader Mitch McConnell, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy.

They have announced this bill will be ONLY provisions that have bipartisan support! The state and local government funding and the liability protection will be thrown out and negotiated and potentially passed later.
