The river tested us with towering waves, boat-swallowing holes, and white-knuckle rapids that pushed our limits and showed us its true power. From legendary whitewater runs in Big Mallard and Split Rock, to near misses that could have changed everything in Big Mallard, the Main Salmon lived up to its fierce and rugged reputation. This is the stretch of river where the River of No Return earned its name - a wild, untamed adventure through one of America's last great wildernesses. Hold on tight - this is the biggest water of the trip, and it's not pulling any punches.
