Speaking for Myself - "Teach Your Children" - Harrowing stories of Peter Heathwood & Jennifer McNern

Truth and Reconciliation Platform presents the third discussion in its "Speaking for Myself" series from The Miami Showband Peace Centre online. The Witnesses for this TaRP event are Jennifer McNern who was seriously injured in "The Abercorn Bombing" in Belfast in March 1972 and Peter Heathwood who was shot and paralysed in a case of mistaken identity in Belfast in 1979.

The Panellists are Denise Johnston and Denver Charles who are both teachers of history and politics in Northern Ireland, with a keen interest in reconciliation and bringing young people from the differing communities together.

The Chairman is Miami Showband Massacre survivor, Stephen Travers, who is also the Chairman and co-founder of Truth and Reconciliation Platform. This event is researched and co-hosted by Eugene Reavey, Treasurer and co-founder of Truth and Reconciliation Platform and Joe Campbell, the Truth and Reconciliation Platform Ambassador to the UK.

‘Speaking for Myself’ and ‘Music - A Bridge Over Troubled Waters’ are Truth and Reconciliation Platform educational projects, hosted by The Miami Showband Peace Centre Online and assisted by the consultant and coach, Tracy Dempsey. The SfM series is assisted by Ireland's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. For more information about the work of Truth and Reconciliation Platform visit www.tarp.global.
