Seasonal depression in the UK had a bigger impact on me than I realised. Moving abroad didn't change who I am, but changing my environment changed my daily life.Me and my wife still work full time remote jobs. We're not on holiday. We just get to choose where those 40 hours happen.

For us, that meant swapping grey mornings for beach walks, sunshine, a strong fitness culture and cafés with reliable wifi in Da Nang, Vietnam. Same work. Different life around it.

The biggest lesson? Don't choose a country because it's cheap. Choose the lifestyle you want first, then find the place that fits. If it's more affordable too, that's a bonus.
