The Heat Equation | Math | Chegg Tutors
The heat equation is a partial differential equation involving the first partial derivative with respect to time and the second partial derivative with respect to the spatial coordinates. There are various methods of solution for the heat equation and the method we choose depends on the initial and boundary conditions given in the problem. Typically we want to separate the variables the use orthogonality properties. The heat equation is also known as the diffusion equation.
