Storm Alex wreaks havoc across Italy, France and UK

Storm Alex has battered northern Italy with torrential rains, sweeping up into France where eight people are currently missing and pummelling parts of the UK. 
Gale-force winds of up to 61mph battered the south-west of England as the storm moved in from France.
