MACV-SOG - America’s Secret Army in Vietnam

Stahl, a non-commissioned officer who distinguished himself in combat in Vietnam with both the 5th Special Forces Group and MACV SOG - the latter a classified program in which Stahl served as the Reconnaissance Team Leader of RT Michigan and earned his second Silver Star, second Bronze Star, Air Medal, and Purple Heart. Interestingly, Stahl participated in "Operation DUMBO DROP," made famous by the movie of the same name in the 1980s, and managed to have time while in Vietnam to join a skydiving club, "The Sharp Chuter."
