The Steve Harvey Motivational Speech That made Obama Cry 2020

On December 13, 2013 Steve Harvey Interviewed President Barack Obama on The Steve Harvey Morning Show. During this interview taping Steve Harvey shared this story with President Obama that made him cry and gave him inspiration and motivation to endure despite the storm. Steve shared a story of how his school teacher crushed his dreams, but the devastation was the blessing that would make Steve Harvey the success he is today.

“As always, whenever I’m contacted by the White House, I’m just humbled,” Harvey said Thursday in a phone interview. “I think, ‘Wow, how did I get here from where I started?’ I do honor the fact that he respects me -- the White House obviously knows what our ratings and demographics are, and the tone of the message of our show, so the president knows he can come on and talk so personally.”

At the core of the bond between Obama and Harvey is a mutual respect that goes far beyond politics, Harvey said.
