This air-layer was not successful. The section healed itself and grew new bark. I will do this the old fashioned way.. root the cutting in soil.

Part 3 preparing a cutting for rooting in soil—One tree becomes two trees.

The art of propagating is definitely an artistry.. there are many techniques and ways to achieve the same goal—Cloning a plant while its still attached to the parent plant. For me, this technique is “easier” for checking in on the rooting progress, and allows for quick access to water the rooting process.
