Winter solstice celebrations in Latvia

Baltic people were the last pagans of Europe, so many ancient traditions have still survived and are a part of everyday life here.
We wanted to experience a winter solstice celebration, so while we were in Latvia, we headed to the very east of it, to a town called Malta and took part in a traditional Winter Solstice celebration on Kromu Kalns.
It was pretty amazing and so unique!

We started our "Winter trip" in Vilnius, Lithuania from where we later went to Latvia, Estonia and Finland.
