ISRO announces plans for Chandrayaan-3, 4 IAF astronauts selected for Gaganyaan (IndiaTV News)

Indian Space Research Organisation chief K Sivan on Wednesday announced that India’s third lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3 is on and has been approved by the government. The Chandrayaan-3 mission is slated to launch in 2021.

K Sivan said that the Chandrayaan-3’s configuration will be similar to that of its predecessor, the Chandrayaan-2. This means that the Chandrayaan-3 will also have a lander and a rover with a propulsion module.

Four men from the Indian Air Force have been selected to undergo training for India’s first human spaceflight mission, ISRO chief K Sivan said on Wednesday as he declared 2020 as the year of Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan-3.
