Man Wrecks Taildragger Immediately After Purchasing It

There is very little information available about this accident, but here is what I was able to piece together:

The accident pilot traveled to Rifle, Colorado from central Arizona to purchase this plane. The purchase had completed and the Stinson Voyager's new registration had not even been processed when things literally went sideways, leading immediately to gear collapse, prop strikes, and visible creasing in the fuselage. The accident pilot used his bill of sale in filling out ownership information on the accident report.

The Stinson Voyager was substantially damaged. There were no injuries.

In what I imagine must have been a gut-wrenching moment of self-reflection, among the few statements the accident pilot made to the NTSB was that he "should have done additional aircraft orientation." Hindsight...
