Our Worst Travel Mishap | North Shore, Oahu

Hale'iwa, Shark's Cove, Turtle Bay, Sunset Beach, and an unfortunate travel mishap.

Learn from our mistake: check to make sure your key works before locking the fob in the car. If it only works in the trunk, lock your fob and phones in the trunk, not in the car.

0:12 We start the day in Haleiwa at the famous Matsumoto's Shave Ice. It was refreshing and the ice cream was really good, but the actual shave ice did not meet our high expectations. We'd love to hear your favorite shave ice locations in the comments.

1:59 We also went shopping in Haleiwa and stopped in Hawaii's oldest surf and dive shop, Surf N Sea. The amount of surf boards and sandals inside blew us away!

2:52 Our next stop was at Shark's Cove. This is a great place for snorkeling! Lots of fish and if you're not a strong swimmer, the west side of the cove is so shallow you can stand up at any time. The east side is deeper and has bigger fish, but the waves are pretty strong so be careful around the rocks.

8:31 We were staying at an Airbnb near Turtle Bay, which gave us access to everything at Turtle Bay. We really enjoyed exploring the grounds and wandering through the hotel. The beach at Turtle Bay is also where I shot the opening sunrise time lapse.

Our final stop was Sunset Beach, and we highly recommend this spot for sunset. It was calm and serene, nice sand, and curious crabs that come out to look around.
