Hey Beauties!

Here are all 10 shades of the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Colors! Wow, what a mouthful. But anyways, I wanted to clarify that these are definitely NOT liquid lipsticks by any means. They have a moussey/creamy consistency and do not dry down on the lips. Although they claim to be matte, they have a satin to cream finish. The sheen that you can see in the lip swatches remains on the lips as you continue to wear them throughout the day. A product that is similar to the Maybelline Vivid Mattes is the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. However, the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams do, indeed, dry matte while the Maybelline Vivid Mattes do not.

This product has a big tendency to transfer or smear, so I would carry it with you in your purse so you are able to reapply when needed. To help prevent bleeding of the product outside of the lip line, I would recommend lining the lips with a lip liner and setting the outside border of the lips with a translucent powder. Dabbing off the excess product with a paper towel after application may also help. I would not overline your lips with the product alone because it will most likely smear. I would keep the product inside the natural lip line for the neatest results.

For anyone who is very sensitive to scents in lip products, these may not be for you. They do have a very strong perfume scent during application, but the scent disappears after the product has been on the lips for a few minutes.

The Maybelline Vivid Mattes have very good pigmentation, except for the last two purples in the line: Vivid Violet and especially Possessed Plum. These two shades apply very patchy on the lips, and you must build up the color in order to avoid the patchiness as much as you can. Lining the entire lip with a lip liner that is similar in color to Vivid Violet or Possessed Plum may hide the patchiness of the product.

Overall, the Vivid Mattes are excellent if you are looking for a gorgeous burst of color and willing to maintain it throughout the day. I wish the purples applied evenly, but nonetheless, I love all shades in this line.
