How Hoaxers Pulled Off Fake New York City Steakhouse Prank
Fine-dining customers were fooled into thinking they were eating at an exclusive New York City restaurant called Mehran's Steakhouse. The elaborate prank was staged at an event space in Manhattan. The hoaxers went to amazing lengths to pull off the prank, including obtaining a one-day liquor license and food-handling permits. The kitchen was staffed by college kids who'd never worked in a restaurant before. Also, the "master chef" was a 21-year-old man who cooks for his friends.
