He was sexually abused as a child. Now this Orthodox rabbi tells his story

Utah Orthodox Rabbi Avrohom “Avremi” Zippel has opened up in an exclusive video interview with the Deseret News about being sexually abused by his childhood nanny for a decade.

On Nov. 15, 2019, Rabbi Zippel’s former nanny, Alavina Fungaihea Florreich, 70, was found guilty of five counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and two counts of forcible sex abuse. She faces up to life in prison.

Rabbi Zippel's story has gotten attention from members of the Orthodox Jewish community from Brooklyn to Israel.
