US threatens to expand sanctions for Russia-Germany Nord Stream 2 pipeline | DW News

Billions of euros have been plunged into laying the Nord Stream 2 pipeline deep under the Baltic Sea. However, a US threat to expand sanctions has put the German-Russian project at risk. Expanded sanctions proposed by US senators are causing more uncertainty. German officials are worried they personally could get caught up in them. With the Baltic states and Poland also voicing their objections, the gasline risks being dead in the water.
