X03 - Calculate Pi With Python
A python program to calculate pi to as many digits as possible with python.
Estimate Pi Using Archimedes’ Method

5 digits: 3.14159 Error: 1 km
8 digits: 3.14159265 Error: 12.7 cms
Per NASA: Voyager 1 is the farthest man-made object at 12.5B miles. Using that distance as the radius of a (78B mile) circle, you can calculate the circumference using 15 places of pi and the result would be off by 1.5 inches!
The Universe: Given the diameter of the known universe. You can calculate its circumference to an accuracy of the diameter of a proton (10^-15 meters), with 43 digits of pi.
The Plank length is the smallest possible distance at 1.6 x10^-35 m. You need about 60 digits of pi to calculate the circumference of the universe to that level of accuracy.
Pi (actual, 75 places) = 3.141592653589793238462643383279502884197169399375105820974944592307816406286
Pi (our estimate) = 3.1415926535897932384626433832795028841971693993750
Pi to 48 decimal places!
