Astronomers have a hard time communicating the scale of the universe, with objects being so far away it's common to bring things down to Earth to make it easier for the general public to grasp.
It's a lot easier to imaging the size of a space rock if you compare it to a city, or a white dwarf compared to the Earth or sun.
I imagine the consequences if these objects were really moved this close together.
