The Lazarus Syndrome is a 1979 American made-for-television drama thriller film directed by Jerry Thorpe. It was later the basis for a short-lived television series of the same name, airing on the ABC network. One of the first attempts of African-Americans starring in an hour long network drama format. Most would be unsuccessful (lasting for less than a season) before Lee Daniels created Empire on Fox.

An adulterous newspaper reporter, who has just experienced a heart attack, pesters a black doctor into investigating the questionable medical practices taking place at the hospital where both are residing.
