Making a bioactive feeder roach bin

Long and rambling walkthrough of making a bioactive feeder roach habitat using a plastic storage container.

Materials:
- Sterilite container (opaque, 18-gallon capacity, latching top)
- Zoo Med Under Tank Heater, Large
- Thermostat
- Gorilla Tape
- Aluminum window screening
- Lightweight drainage layer substrate
- Forest/jungle substrate
- Leaf litter
- Cork flats and rounds
- Bug barrier / petroleum jelly
- Distilled water (regular water can be used to, using distilled just stops mineral buildup in the substrate)

Tools:
- Drill and step bit (optional)
- Kitchen shears
- Utility knife and lighter (optional, useful if cutting hard plastic lid)
- Glue gun

Custodians:
- Springtails
- Dwarf isopods
- Lesser mealworms / buffalo beetles
- Mealworms / darkling beetles
- Dermestid beetles

Roaches:
- Blaptica dubia
- Little Kenyan
