From June 20 to the morning of June 21 a powerful weather system driven by an upper level trough and shear line unleashed widespread heavy rain across Guangxi. The worst-hit areas include Baise, Hechi, and Liuzhou where heavy to torrential rain caused sudden flooding that overwhelmed urban infrastructure and natural river systems.
