बैंकों और NBFC से लोन लेने वाले ग्राहकों के लिए रिजर्व बैंक ऑफ इंडिया (RBI) ने एक बेहद राहत भरी खबर दी है। लोन रिकवरी के नाम पर ग्राहकों, उनके रिश्तेदारों या दोस्तों को मानसिक रूप से प्रताड़ित करने, डराने-धमकाने और सोशल मीडिया पर रिकॉर्डिंग अपलोड करने जैसे मनमाने रवैए पर लगाम लगाने के लिए RBI ने सख्त नियमों का नया ड्राफ्ट जारी किया है। नए नियमों के तहत अब इन हरकतों को 'हार्ष मेथड्स' (Coercive/Harsh Practices) मानकर गैर-कानूनी करार दिया गया है। इसके अलावा, अब बैंकों के लिए सभी रिकवरी एजेंटों का पुलिस वेरिफिकेशन (Police Verification) अनिवार्य कर दिया गया है, ताकि किसी भी आपराधिक प्रवृत्ति के व्यक्ति को इस काम में शामिल न किया जा सके।

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has issued a strict new draft guideline to protect loan borrowers from the harsh and arbitrary practices of recovery agents employed by banks and NBFCs. Under these new rules, actions such as verbally abusing, physically or mentally harassing, making anonymous threatening calls to the borrower, their guarantors, or relatives, and uploading recordings on social media are classified as illegal 'Coercive/Harsh Practices'. Furthermore, the RBI has made mandatory police verification for all recovery agents, ensuring that individuals with criminal backgrounds are strictly barred from this profession.
