BOOZETOOTH SPEAKER MK8 (DIY SPEAKER AND 3D PRINTING PROJECT) - TEASER
Just a quick video, shot by a dodgy phone as per usual....Not complete but a milestone\progress video after some lengthy CAD designing and a few wasted prints.
As a few of my other videos have shown, i've been a little fixated on designing my own variant of a portable battery powered speaker. Finding the right components is always difficult, especially when you dont want to sacrifice any of the design intent (ie size). I really wanted something that resembled a beer can and have modelled it based on a 500ml one, although it might be slightly taller. I've done a few in the past with passive radiators and 18650 batteries and i think the reduced internal volume really makes the bass sound thin. This one will be using a 10mm port and a smaller battery/components. Both top and bottom are screw threads to make accessing parts easier if something happens, where MK1-MK6 relied on gluing and hoping nothing would go wrong.
Parts list
2inch Peerless full range driver - PLS50N25Al07-04 (from a google home device)
QCC3003 bluetooth amplifier board
BMS/Charging chip/Boost Converter combo
18350 Li-ion battery.
Although very difficult to model correctly as Peerless doesnt release the TS specs and i dont have any equiptment to actually measure (yet), i think i'll be modifying the EQ settings via a USB-SPI programmer by watching countless videos from other youtubers like Darieee (https://www.youtube.com/c/Darieee) @darieee
hopefully i'll have this wired up and painted over the next few weeks, will post more once it is....providing it isnt crap :)
