Archétypo 120 - Angel's Fall

Archétypo 120 - The band is composed by António Macedo (programming, portuguese and electric guitars, bass) and Paulo Martins (lyrics, vocals, portuguese and electric guitar, some programming, percussions, bass), with Pedro Fonte (bass). All songs were written by António Macedo and Paulo Martins.

Though the band began in 2004, its roots can be traced back to the late 1980's, more precisely to 1988, when the two founding members (António and Paulo) had their first band, Anomeos. The end of this one led to the formation of another band, Restos Mortais de Isabel which, by early 1991, also saw its end, with each member persuing different musical projects. Nevertheless, by 1999, the idea arose of re-starting the project, not only keeping the old songs but, more important, creating new ones. However, and due to personal reasons, the band only kept two of its founding members. This, allied with a different sonority from that that Restos Mortais de Isabel practised, mainly due to the use of computers and new technologies, led to the idea of starting off a new project and so Archétypo 120 was born. Christened Kali Ashti at first, the band spent the next two years composing and playing their own songs until, by summer 2006, the opportunity occurred of recording an album. This was done by David Reis (In Tempus) and Pedro Morcego (Phantom Vision), who also produced the record. The result was a 9 tracks album, called "Obsession". 2007 sees the free online edition of a promo [posted on Portugal Underground http://www.portugalunderground.blogspot.com Mehrlicht Unbound http://www.mehrlichtunbound.blogspot.com and m4pt http://www.m4pt.com consisting of two tracks from that record, "Angel's Fall" and "Heartache and Death", while in 2008 the live recording "First Whispers - Live at Plano B, Porto, 20/03/08", is released through Enough Records also for free download at http://enoughrecords.scene.org including, besides the songs from the studio album, two new tracks. Presentely, the band is working on a second album, which will contain 15 songs, as well as it is already drawing the sketches of a third studio. During 2009, the band was included in Mick Mercer's most recent book, "Music To Die For", and is supposed to be included on a v/a compilation by Fatal Object label, together with [audible], Detective, Les Provisoires, MAY vs Femme Fatale, P., Zero Nitrate, among others... They were also part of the stop motion "O Evangelho de um Assassino" "The Gospel Of An Assassin" , with the song "Dance". During January 2010, Pedro Fonte leaves the bend thus reducing it to the basic original duo.
