Sport & Social Change

As part of Project PUSH, we conducted on-camera interviews with each of the 14 coaches who came to Richmond from South Africa. This is Abongile Oscar Qasana, known as "Bongi". We asked him if he believes sport, and specifically soccer, can changed the world.

Project PUSH, a partnership between the Center for Sport Leadership at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond Strikers Soccer Club, the Boys & Girls Clubs of South Africa, Ragball International, and Grassroots Soccer, is a two-way cultural exchange funded under the U. S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs’ International Sports Programming Initiative. This two-week program is aimed at creating social change using the power of sport.
