Ohio State would go on to lose that weekend vs. Michigan State, 17-14 on a last second FG, ending the Buckeyes' 23 game win streak. Elliott rushed for 33 yards & 1 TD on only 12 attempts, with just two carries in the 2nd half.

Elliott blasted the playcalling after the loss & announced he would not be returning to Ohio State the following season, making that day the last time he would play in the Horseshoe.

This announcement came after Elliott had spent several days in the hospital for a skin infection & cyst on his right shin.

Elliott later apologized for his remarks via Twitter (https://twitter.com/EzekielElliott/status/668836529528262656).

Ohio State would go on to defeat Michigan 42-13 in Ann Arbor, then Notre Dame 44-28 in the BattleFrog Fiesta Bowl. The Buckeyes finished the season at 12-1.
