The Eclectics: An American Practice, Part 2
This is the story of the Eclectics, a group of "irregular" physicians, who were active from about 1840 to 1940, and who used botanicals in their practice. They incorporated the herbal wisdom of Native Americans into American medicine, including such herbs as echinacea and black cohosh. Much of popular herbalism today derives from the Eclectics.
