In a new book, Georgia Democrat Sen. Raphael Warnock asks how Republicans and Democrats are applying faith to their politics.

In “The Crooked Places Made Straight: Reflections on the Moral Meaning of America,” he argues that "democracy is the political enactment of a spiritual idea."

Warnock spoke with NPR’s Michel Martin about a vision for the country that embraces faith and humility.
