Church of St. nikola called Muster is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of sailors, it was founded in the 13th century. Over time, the church was upgraded several times. In the 16th century, the single-nave church was extended to the north by a Gothic-style nave, and in the 17th century. century with a central baroque nave, to which two more were added from the south, and thus became the most picturesque church on Vis with a five-nave shape. Large expansions were completed around 1634. The main gate with a double gable and two heads of Old Testament prophets were also built in the Baroque style. At the end of XVIII. century, the medieval bell tower was also restored. On the main altar, made of wood, are statues of the Transfiguration, Christ, Moses, St. Elijah, St. Joseph and St. Jerome. Above the altar is a triumphal arch in the Baroque style depicting the Crucifixion, Mary and Magdalene. Numerous sculptural works are also interesting, such as a stone vessel for blessed water, two statues, St. Catherine and St. Dominica, a baroque statue of Mary with her son, relief angel heads, as well as a pulpit of Renaissance forms. In the church there are many graves of priests and nobles with tombstones that show the names and coats of arms of old Komiža families. It also contains a large number of works of art, the most famous of which are two silver chalices, a cross with the stamp of a Venetian goldsmith, two powerful people in the Rococo style and a baroque censer. The high tower in the southern part of the monastery and church dates back to the XIII. century and is one of the oldest fortresses in Dalmatia. Defensive walls were placed next to the towers, which indicates that the tower was used to defend the monastery and the church.
Today the church is a cultural heritage.
