Amid Evil devs talk being Steam's #1 FPS, DOOM Mods and Leaving Early Access

Amid Evil is a high octane retro FPS throwback in the vein of Quake, Heretic and Hexen.

I spoke with the game’s developers Simon Rance and Leon Zawada about their childhood in New Zealand modding DOOM, Amid Evil's very strong Steam review scores and their experiences with early access.

Simon and Leon's first major project was a total conversion of Rise of the Triad in the DOOM engine.

When Rise of the Triad was eventually remade in 2013 by Interceptor Entertainment, the duo were hired to lend their expertise with the classic title to the remake.

After helping to deliver Bombshell and Rad Rodgers in 2016, Simon and Leon decided to leave Interceptor and start their own studio, Indefatigable.
