Staying Connected while Trekking to Everest Base Camp - Phones, GPS, & More | Trek Tips
http://wwtrek.com ➤ As nice as it is to disconnect from the outside world on the Everest Base Camp trek, we know that sometimes our guests need to stay in touch with the home-base too. Watch this video to learn what your options for communication are!

You should be able to get by just fine with your regular mobile phone and wifi connectivity in Kathmandu and most of the teahouses along the trek to Everest Base Camp. If you travel frequently or need more connectivity than that, maybe consider using an unlocked phone and a local SIM card. If you absolutely need to have service throughout the entire Khumbu valley, consider an InReach Explorer (or other similar device) which receives a satellite signal anywhere in the world, doubles as a GPS, and connects wirelessly to your regular mobile phone for ease of use.
