Legacies: The Chinese Educational Mission 150 Years Later

When the first boys of the Chinese Educational Mission arrived in New England in 1872, they inaugurated a cultural exchange that has lasted to the present day. Learn about exciting projects at both the Connecticut Historical Society and Phillips Academy that share the stories of the boys of the mission. We’ll pay special attention to the work of Chentung Liang Cheng, a Mission student who returned to the U.S. as an adult to establish a more permanent exchange program.

This event was co-hosted by the Chinese Historical Society of New England.
