Acid,Base and Salt

Acids are substances that donate protons (H+ ions) in a chemical reaction, like HCl or citric acid. Bases are substances that accept protons, such as NaOH or ammonia. Salts are formed when acids and bases react, resulting in an ionic compound like NaCl (table salt).
Key Characteristics:
Acids: Sour taste, turn blue litmus red, and have a pH less than 7.
Bases: Bitter taste, turn red litmus blue, and have a pH greater than 7.
Salts: Often have a salty taste, are neutral, and do not affect litmus paper.
Neutralization Reaction:
When an acid and a base react, they neutralize each other, forming a salt and water.
Examples:
Acids: Hydrochloric acid (HCl), sulfuric acid (H₂SO₄), citric acid (C₆H₈O₇).
Bases: Sodium hydroxide (NaOH), potassium hydroxide (KOH), ammonia (NH₃).
Salts: Sodium chloride (NaCl), potassium sulfate (K₂SO₄), calcium carbonate (CaCO₃).#chemistry #motivation #rcb #ipl #students
