Katherine Torrance (a British Diver)
Katherine Torrance is a highly promising diver from England and Great Britain. She won a bronze medal in the senior Grand Prix in 2014 and achieved three medals at the World Junior Championships in 2016.
Torrance was born in Croydon. Her senior European debut came in 2016. Later that year, she won two gold medals and one bronze medal at the World Junior Championship competition.
She competed in the 2018 Commonwealth Games where she won a silver medal in the synchronized 3-meter springboard event alongside Alicia Blagg.
She competed in the women's 1 meter springboard event at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships.

Diver Katherine Torrance is a Commonwealth Games silver medalist, who has represented both England and Great Britain internationally. She’s one of her country’s leading talents on the 1m and 3m springboards.
After initially training in gymnastics, Torrance began diving at the age of eight, and went on to win gold medals at the ASA National Age Group Diving Championships in three consecutive years.
Katherine Torrance achieved success in diving by participating in the ASA's junior competition pathway. She won gold medals at the 2009, 2010, and 2011 ASA National Age Group Diving Championships.
The diver, born in Croydon, moved with her family from Kent to Yorkshire when she was 15 years old. This move was to train with high-quality talent and coaches at Leeds Diving.
She quickly made a name for herself as a standout junior athlete in the UK, showcasing her talent by winning a gold medal in the 3m synchro event at the British National Cup in 2014.
She continued to impress by securing her first senior international medal later that season with a bronze in the 3m event at the FINA Grand Prix in Bolzano, Italy.
The following year, she added to her achievements by capturing bronze and silver medals in the women’s 1m and 3m springboard events at the British Diving Championships.
In 2015, Torrance represented Great Britain at the inaugural European Games in Baku, where she won gold in the women’s 3m springboard.
The following year, she made her senior European Championships debut in London before travelling to the World Junior Championships in Kazan, where she would take home three gold medals in the women’s 1m springboard and the team event, and bronze in the 3m springboard.
Torrance had a successful season in the FINA Diving World Series, became British Champion on the 3m springboard, and finished fourth in the 3m synchro at the European Diving Championships.
In 2018, she represented Team England at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, where she and diving partner Alicia Blagg took home silver in the highly competitive 3m synchro event.
The next year, she did really well at the World Championships, finishing in the Top 5 twice, and also won a bronze medal with her team at the European Championships.
The British 1m springboard champion in 2019 finished in fourth place in the world championships that year, narrowly missing out on a podium position.
Torrance, who is passionate about animals and loves to travel, joined Grace Reid in the 3m springboard event for Tokyo 2020. They had previously finished sixth together at the FINA World Cup before the Olympics. At the Games, Torrance and Reid finished sixth in the race.
