Harmony Korine, the writer of Kids and director of Gummo and Trash Humpers, talks to Henry Barnes about American hedonism, escaping reality and why it's sometimes pointless to ask him to ascribe meaning to his movies.

Spring Breakers, Korine's new film, is a crime drama about a group of teenage girls on a spring break in Florida who get arrested for drug possession and fall under the influence of a gangster. Spring Breakers stars Selena Gomez, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson, James Franco and Gucci Mane.
