Review: Voigtländer NOKTON 50mm F/1.5 Aspherical VM

Selling a mint pre-ASPH e46 Summilux 50 two years ago was a mistake. Prices have since skyrocketed. But having sold one, I was left bereft a fast fifty. Culpa mea. That's where the Voigtländer came in. It's mildly sharper, more contrasty, flares less in oblique sunlight than the Summilux. I'll compare them side-by-side in a later video.

In a word, the Nokton is brilliant. It's also aspherical. I really don't dig the onion point lights, and where found, cross patterns in highlight bokeh balls. That part, though, I'll dig into deeper in a later video.

This one one is something of an homage, and hopefully it's concise.

You can find out all about it from Cosina's (the manufacturer) Voigtländer page: http://www.cosina.co.jp/seihin/voigtlander/vm-mount/vm-50mm1_5/index.html
