Alex Ovechkin's 65 Goals in 2007-08 (Extended) (HD)

The greatest single goal-scoring season of the last quarter-century. Ovi lit the lamp 65 times in 2007-08, breaking the left wing goal scoring record held by Luc Robitaille (63 in 92-93) and broke the Caps' record held by Dennis Maruk (60 in 81-82). Ovechkin's 65 goals rank as the 23rd highest single season goal total in NHL history. He became the 1st 60-goal scorer since Lemieux (69) and Jagr (62) both hit the mark in 95-96. Ovi added 47 assists for a career-high 112 points, winning his 1st Art Ross Trophy. He won his 1st of 3 Hart Trophies, and his 1st of 3 straight Lester B. Pearson/Ted Lindsay Awards. Of course he handily won his 1st of 6 Rocket Richard Trophies, leading 2nd place Ilya Kovalchuk by a whopping 13 goals. He became the 1st player in NHL history to win all 4 in the same season.
