Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) | Causes, Pathophysiology, Signs & Symptoms, Diagnosis, Treatment

Guillain Barre Syndrome is a auto-immune demyelinating condition involving ascending weakness and paralysis. Guillain Barre Syndrome most often occurs after resolution of an infection (ex. campylobacter jejuni), but other causes/risk factors include influenza vaccination and surgery. In this lesson, we also discuss a variety of Guillain Barre Syndrome variants, methods of diagnosing Guillain Barre Syndrome and ways to treat it.
