God of War is an action-adventure video game series created by David Jaffe and loosely based on Greek mythology. The series follows Kratos, a violent anti-hero who initially sets out to defeat Ares, the God of War, before becoming the God of War himself, causing the other Olympians to betray him. The series has become a flagship title for the PlayStation brand, with seven games across multiple platforms. An eighth installment is currently in development and it will be a reboot based on Norse mythology.

Kratos Falling, also known as Kratos Jumping Off a Cliff, is the opening scene from 2005's God of War where the character Kratos drops off a steep cliff, attempting suicide after explaining how the gods have abandoned him. As early as 2020, the scene became the subject of memes, particularly on YouTube, including image macros, where the scene is used to joke about people jumping into things.
