James Paterson: Governments don't get to have multiple foreign policies
Shadow Home Affairs and Cyber Security Minister James Paterson says governments do not get to have multiple foreign policies.
Industry and Science Minister Ed Husic and Early Childhood Education Minister Dr Anne Aly have both strayed from the Prime Minister’s unequivocal support for Israel by commenting on the treatment of Palestinians in Gaza following terror attacks in the region from Hamas.
“They just have one foreign policy – it is articulated by the Foreign Minister and the Prime Minister,” Mr Paterson told Sky News host Caleb Bond.
“Any member of the cabinet and ministry that doesn’t support the foreign policy of the Australian government obviously is in a very difficult position with their continued membership of the cabinet.
“You don’t get to freelance on something as sensitive and as important as this.”
