Gaia Update: 2020 Astrology - An Overview

In 2020, Saturn, Pluto and Jupiter come together in the sign of Capricorn. This energy will not fully complete until January 22, 2024, when Pluto moves out of Capricorn and into Aquarius.

Saturn is our manifested reality and all the issues of frustration and obstruction that come with that. Pluto is the destroyer and wants to break down and transform. In Capricorn, it’s about breaking down the old lies in order to build a new physical world that better fits our energetic truth.

Capricorn rules the structures of this world, and so all authoritarian, financial, political, as well as power structures, are up for review. It is time for a complete and total overhaul of all structures, including the our mental constructs of programming and beliefs.

Jupiter expands and amplifies, so it will bring a culmination, and opportunity to transform the difficulty of this time into a potent opportunity.

This all starts very dramatically with a New Moon Total Solar Eclipse at 12:12am Eastern Time on December 26th, 2019. This Eclipse with the Sun and the Moon at 4 degrees Capricorn will be conjunct Jupiter and the South Node of the Moon. Jupiter, having just crossed over, with Venus, the galactic center of destiny in November, 2019, barrels head long into Capricorn, starting the 2020 drama.

On December 29, 2019, Saturn and Pluto come within 1 degree of each other. These planets will have an exact conjunction at 22 degrees Capricorn from January 6-14, 2020. Jupiter will also be exactly conjunct the South Node of the Moon in Capricorn, an expansive opportunity to drop loads of karma. 22 is a master builder number, speaking to the big but satisfying job ahead, of building a new world that is more true to who we really are.

On January 10th, 2020, there is a partial Lunar Eclipse at 20 degrees Cancer, right across from Saturn and Pluto, but also the Sun and Mercury. With this stellium of planets in Capricorn, we are getting our marching orders of what 2020 is about for each of us.

In March we will be feeling the first of three conjunctions of Jupiter and Pluto. On March 21st, Spring Equinox, Saturn moves into the sign of Aquarius, before it retrogrades back into Capricorn later in the year. Jupiter’s retrograde allows it to come together with Pluto two more times in 2020, for the second time at the end of June, and again at the end of November.

Mars takes a retrograde in it’s home sign of Aries for September and October. This allows Mars to come into a square with the 2020 power players, Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn three times. This brings an energy of tension and frustration at not being able to just move and build the way we would like. Mars squares these planets, first in mid-August, again in early October, and finishing out the intense year of 2020 with a bang, for the third time in December.

Saturn and Jupiter move together into the sign of Aquarius, and out of Capricorn, at the end of the year, making 2021 a fresh new chapter and officially starting the Age of Aquarius.
